After completing general surgery training as Chief Resident in Surgery
at Philadelphia's Albert Einstein Medical Center in 1972, Dr. Leis was
awarded a prestigious fellowship in plastic surgery with world renowned
surgeons in Sweden and France. He returned to the United States and has
been practicing plastic surgery in the Philadelphia area since 1974.
Dr. Leis is Board Certified in General Surgery and Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. He
has been training plastic surgery residents since 1982 and served as a
National Board Examiner for certification in Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery. Dr. Leis is a founding member and the first President of the
Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the American College of
Osteopathic Surgeons.
Although trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery,
Dr. Leis specializes in Aesthetic/Cosmetic Surgery and opened the first
private out-patient cosmetic surgery center in the Philadelphia area. He
is Professor and Chairman of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, one of the 10 largest
medical schools in the United States.
The Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is a private office
and surgery complex located in Philadelphia's exclusive Main Line area at
19 Montgomery Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.
This unique facility, the first of its kind in the Delaware Valley,
consists of a former residence converted into elegant offices and
consultation areas, state-of-the-art operating suites, and cozy furnished
apartments for patients staying overnight. The Center is conveniently
located in Philadelphia's western suburbs, close to U.S. 1 (City Avenue)
and the Schuylkill Expressway (Route 76), approximately 2 minutes from
