Surgeon, professor, speaker... Dr. Sherman Leis is a graduate of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, interned at Botsford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and returned to Philadelphia for residency training in General Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital and Albert Einstein Medical Center.
He completed Fellowships in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at University of Lund Hospital in Malmo, Sweden, at Hospital St. Louis in Paris, France and at Clinique Belvedere and Hospital Foch in Neuilly, France. Dr. Leis trained in GRS/SRS with Dr. Marci Bowers in Trinidad, Colorado and in 2005 established the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery.
Dr. Leis is Board Certified in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is Professor and Chairman of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Director of Residency Training in Plastic Surgery at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. As part of his aesthetic surgery practice, Dr. Leis has performed many feminization and masculinization procedures of the face and body. He now uses his more than 40 years experience to give the highest quality care available for the Trans community. The Center offers a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures for GLBTI individuals and coordinates a team of approximately 30 trans-friendly professionals who specialize in transgender care.
